Dr. Ashley Mandela is an ABFAS Board Qualified foot and ankle surgeon. Dr. Mandela is a native of Cleveland, growing up in Seven Hills. Dr. Mandela received her undergraduate degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. She earned her medical degree at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Mandela completed her three-year surgical residency at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, where she had comprehensive surgical training, specifically in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Dr. Mandela was Chief Resident her final year of her surgical residency. During her residency, she has published research on transmetatarsal amputation suture technique, double plating fixation approaches for forefoot & rearfoot procedures, and carbon fiber fixation in podiatric surgery.
Dr. Mandela has special interests in sports medicine, limb salvage, wound care, diabetes education, forefoot procedures including correction of bunion and digital deformities, as well as reconstructive rearfoot and ankle procedure.
In her free time, Dr. Mandela enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She is very proud of her Polish heritage; she enjoys cooking and baking especially Polish recipes that have been passed through the generations. She is a Cleveland sports fan, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and physical activities such as running, kayaking, swimming and hiking.
